Entry Requirements

Are there any entry requirements for the SSSTS Refresher course?

Only those who have successfully completed the SSSTS course and can provide evidence of this qualification are eligible for the SSSTS-R course. There is no grace period once the initial certificate expires, so it's crucial to complete the refresher before your existing certificate's expiration date.

Assessment, Certification & Progression

How is the SSSTS refresher course assessed?

The SSSTS Refresher course assessment strategy is streamlined to efficiently validate the current competencies of site supervisors with a focus on recent developments and legislative updates in health and safety. This includes:

  • Examination: A focused examination at the end of the course forms the core of the assessment process. It comprises 25 questions—both multiple-choice and written answers—to test comprehensive understanding and recall of the course material, with a special emphasis on four safety-critical questions that must be answered correctly.

Successfully passing the examination is a requisite for the renewal of the SSSTS certificate, ensuring that certificate holders are up-to-date with their health and safety knowledge and practices, extending the certificate's validity for another five years.

Certification

Participants who pass the end-of-course examination will receive a renewed CITB-recognised SSSTS certificate, valid for an additional 5 years. It's crucial to undertake this refresher course before the expiry of your current SSSTS certification to maintain uninterrupted accreditation.

What are the progression opportunities after completing the SSSTS Refresher course?

The SSSTS Refresher ensures you remain knowledgeable and certified as a site supervisor, enabling you to maintain safety and compliance standards at the highest level. It also sets the foundation for further professional development, potentially leading to more advanced CITB courses and qualifications.
