• Perform pre-operational checks according to manufacturer and legislative requirements.
• Select and maintain appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for dumper operation.
• Safely prepare, operate, and manoeuvre the dumper.
• Conduct safety checks at the worksite before operation.
• Attach and set trailers for safe operation.
• Learn environmental considerations during operation.
• Safely store and transport implements and attachments.
• Perform end-of-shift and shutdown procedures.

Ride on Roller (N214) Course Content:

• Understand industry dangers and operator responsibilities.
• Gain knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the roller.
• Identify the roller's key components and controls, and explain their functions.
• Perform pre-operational checks according to manufacturer and legislative requirements.
• Select and maintain appropriate PPE for roller operation.
• Safely prepare, operate, and manoeuvre the roller efficiently.
• Conduct all necessary safety checks at the work area.
• Learn environmental considerations during roller operation.
• Understand loading and unloading procedures for transportation.
• Perform end-of-shift and shutdown procedures safely.

Are there any entry requirements for the NPORS Dumper and Roller ticket combined training course?

Please be aware that all operators must provide documentation to support their application. This includes proof of having passed the CITB Health, Safety & Environmental test within the two years leading up to their application. Additionally, a proficient understanding of both spoken and written English is required.

The NPORS assessment features both theoretical and practical elements for both dumper and roller courses. The theoretical part comprises a combination of multiple-choice and open-ended questions. Furthermore, learners will undergo a practical assessment where they apply their skills in real-world scenarios.

• Existing NPORS Card Holders Without (S)NVQ:

Operators without the necessary (S)NVQ qualifications will be issued a Trained Operator card, which remains valid for two years. Within this period, they must enrol in and successfully complete the relevant (S)NVQ pertaining to the types of plant equipment listed on their card.

• Existing NPORS Card Holders With (S)NVQ:

Operators who possess an (S)NVQ qualification will receive a Competent Operator card, which has a validity of five years. Additionally, they will be provided with a CPD record/operator logbook to track their continuous professional development and log hours of operation in their field of work.
