S11 FTTP Accreditation for Surveyors & S13 Network Regulations Accreditation for Surveyors – Novice Combined

Broaden Your Surveying Skills with Expert Training in FTTP & Network Regulations

What is the S11 FTTP Accreditation for Surveyors & S13 Network Regulations Accreditation for Surveyors – Novice Combined course?

This combined course is designed for individuals aiming to become proficient in conducting Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) surveys and understanding the associated network regulations within the Openreach infrastructure. By integrating both the S11 and S13 accreditations, learners acquire the essential skills and knowledge to perform FTTP surveys in compliance with current working practices, quality standards, and UK legislation.

Course Content

What can I expect from the S11 & S13 Combined Training Course?

Learners can anticipate a comprehensive blend of theoretical instruction and practical application over a five-day period. Key components include:

  • FTTP Survey Techniques (S11 Module): Developing the ability to complete FTTP surveys using current working practices, quality standards, planning policies, and understanding One Fibre Network components.
  • Network Regulations Understanding (S13 Module): Gaining insights into the regulatory requirements of a Statutory Undertaker, including environmental obligations, Telecommunications Code obligations, regulatory obligations, and Town & Country Planning Acts obligations.
  • Safety and Compliance: Emphasising adherence to safety procedures and compliance with UK legislation during survey activities.
  • Practical Application: Engaging in hands-on exercises that allow learners to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios under expert supervision.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course. However, it is essential that learners have a good understanding of spoken and written English to ensure they can effectively engage with the course material and assessments. Additionally, participants are expected to bring the following Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the practical components:

  • High-Visibility (Hi-Vis) Clothing: To ensure visibility in various working environments.
  • Safety Boots: Protective footwear to safeguard against potential hazards.
  • Safety Helmet (with 4-point chin strap): To protect the head from potential impacts, with the chin strap ensuring the helmet remains securely in place.
  • Gloves: To protect hands from abrasions, cuts, and other potential injuries.
  • Eye Protection: Safety glasses or goggles to shield the eyes from debris and other hazards.

Note: Failure to bring the required PPE may result in exclusion from the practical components of the course.

Assessment

The assessment process evaluates both theoretical knowledge and practical skills:

  • Theoretical Assessments: Learners will complete written examinations designed to assess their understanding of FTTP survey practices, network regulations, safety protocols, and quality standards.
  • Practical Assessments: Participants will undertake hands-on survey tasks within a controlled environment. These assessments evaluate their ability to apply learned techniques, adhere to safety protocols, and meet the established quality standards during actual survey scenarios.

Certification

Upon successful completion of both the theoretical and practical assessments, learners will be awarded Openreach-approved accreditations for both the S11 and S13 modules. These certifications serve as formal recognition of the individual's competency in conducting FTTP surveys and understanding network regulations within the Openreach infrastructure, enhancing their professional credentials and expanding their career opportunities in the telecommunications sector.
