What can I expect from the SA020A training course?

Learners can anticipate a comprehensive blend of theoretical instruction and practical insights during this one-day course. Key components include:

  • Health and Safety Legislation: Understanding relevant health and safety legislation and industry good practices when working on-site. =
  • Safe Site Working Practices: Learning how to implement safe site working practices when connecting fibre cables in single and multi-occupancy dwellings, including buildings. 
  • Customer Optical Fibre Connection Installation: Gaining knowledge and practical skills to carry out the installation of customer optical fibre connections to single and multi-occupancy dwellings, including buildings.

Entry Requirements

The SA020A course is available to individuals over the age of 16 who are capable of reaching the required standard. There are no barriers that restrict access or progression, thereby promoting equal opportunity. However, it is expected that learners will have a level of literacy adequate to cope with the assessment.

Assessment

The assessment process evaluates both theoretical knowledge and practical skills:

  • Theoretical Assessment: Learners will be assessed on their knowledge of health and safety legislation, safe working practices, and procedures related to working in single and multi-occupancy dwellings. 
  • Practical Assessment: Learners will be evaluated on their ability to implement safe working practices and carry out the installation of customer optical fibre connections in single and multi-occupancy dwellings, including buildings.

Certification

Upon successful completion of both the theoretical and practical assessments, participants receive the SA020A Site Safety Awareness in Single & Multi-Occupancy Dwellings Including Buildings accreditation, certificated by Smart Awards. This certification serves as formal recognition of the individual's competency in adhering to safety practices within residential environments.
