Learners can anticipate a focused, four-hour session designed to update and consolidate their Youth MHFA skills, including:

  • Renewal of core competencies and confidence in supporting young people aged 8–18
  • Revision and practice of the MHFA action plan through guided activities
  • Engaging scenarios that reinforce skills in spotting warning signs and responding effectively

Entry Requirements

What are the entry requirements for this refresher course?

This refresher is only open to individuals who have previously completed the full Youth MHFA England two-day course.

Please check your certificate date, if it is within the three-year validity period, you are eligible to enrol.

Assessment

Assessment is informal and ongoing, based on active participation rather than exams:

  • Assessment through engagement in group activities and role-plays
  • No formal tests or pressure to share personal stories—focus is on applied practice in a supportive group environment

Certification

Successful attendees will receive a renewed digital Youth MHFAider® certificate valid for three years.
