Neurodiversity Champion

Build Understanding, Confidence, and Practical Action for Neuroinclusive Workplaces

What is the Neurodiversity Champion Course?

The Neurodiversity Champion workshop is a CPD-accredited, interactive four-hour training course designed to build understanding, confidence, and practical action around neurodiversity in the workplace and beyond. It supports participants to see neurodiversity as a natural part of human variation rather than something to be fixed, while developing a deeper understanding of neurodivergent experiences, including profiles such as ADHD, autism, and dyslexia.

Through a blend of presentations, workshops, discussion, and real examples, the course explores important topics such as executive functioning, spectrum differences, energy management, and Spoon Theory, helping learners better understand the barriers neurodivergent people may face in everyday working environments. Participants leave with practical tools and realistic strategies to reduce those barriers, promote inclusion, and champion more supportive practices across teams and workplaces

Course Content

What can I expect from the Neurodiversity Champion course?

This course is designed to be easy to follow, thought-provoking, and practical. Learning takes place through a medley of case studies, group discussions, and workshop activities, giving participants the opportunity to reflect, share, and apply ideas in a supportive setting.

Participants will:

  • Understand Neurodiversity as Natural Human Variation: Explore neurodiversity as a spectrum of cognitive differences and consider why language and framing matter.
  • Recognise Common Neurodivergent Profiles: Develop awareness of profiles such as ADHD, autism, and dyslexia, including strengths, challenges, and differences in executive functioning.
  • Explore Lived Experience: Examine concepts such as spiky profiles, masking, camouflaging, and energy management, including the use of Spoon Theory to understand daily demands.
  • Understand the Link Between Environment and Wellbeing: Consider how workplace environments, acceptance, and inclusion can affect mental health and everyday experience.
  • Identify Barriers and Take Inclusive Action: Recognise when systems, environments, or expectations are creating unnecessary barriers and learn practical ways to respond.
  • Champion Everyday Inclusion: Leave with realistic, practical actions that help create a more neuroinclusive culture for everyone.

The course content is structured across three core sections:

  • Part 1 – Understanding Neurodiversity: Covers what neurodiversity means, why language matters, and introduces key neurodivergent profiles and executive functioning differences.
  • Part 2 – Living with Neurodivergence: Explores Spoon Theory, masking, camouflaging, and the relationship between neurodiversity and mental health.
  • Part 3 – Inclusion in Action: Focuses on workplace barriers, fairness, proactive inclusion, and practical changes that support neuroinclusive culture.
